In order to come to Russia, every foreign citizen needs to obtain the Russian visa. The Russian visa is issued in the Russian Consulate in your country on the basis of the inviting document.
These inviting documents are:
- Telex number (Russian one- or two-entry visa issued for the period up to 3 months)
- Letter of Invitation (Russian multi-entry visa issued for the period more than 3 months)
Telex number is the permission of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issue the Russian visa in your name that is forwarded via telex machines to the Russian Consulate in the city where you will apply for the Russian visa. In other words, the permission to issue the visa for you is prepared here in Moscow and acquires a special number called telex number. You will be informed about this number by e-mail (without using express mail service). Then you will have to contact the Russian Consulate in the city where you get the visa, present there this telex number and fill in the application form for issuing your Russian visa.
Thus our students gain the following advantages:
- All process of visa support takes 3 days, which reduces the period of obtaining your Russian visa by minimum 3 weeks.
- You have the possibility to apply for the Study Program about 2 weeks before this Program starts and to obtain the Russian visa in time.
- You will not need to pay extra money for express mail service to receive your inviting document (50 euros or more).
This way of obtaining Russian visa is best for the applicants of Summer Programs for the period from 3 weeks to 3 months.
Letter of Invitation allows you to obtain Russian multi-entry visa for the period from 3 to 12 months. Letter of Invitation is prepared by the Russian Federal Migration Service within 3-4 weeks. When the Letter of Invitation is ready we will forward you its original by DHL express mail service. Russian Consulate will issue the Russian visa only if you give the original of your Letter of Invitation. Letter of Invitation is provided for students who enrol to the following Study Programs:
- Academic Year Program (September 6, 2010 – May 1, 2011)
- Fall Semester Program (September 6 – December 24, 2010)
- Spring Semester Program (January 10 – May 1, 2011)
- Other more than 3 months Study Programs (your own dates)
NB: According to the rules of the Russian legislation foreign citizens who enter Russia must register their visa within the first 3 working days including the day of arrival. Being the inviting company our School is responsible for the visa registration of the students for whom we organize visa support. The student is obliged to come to our School office the next day after arrival to Russia to start registration process.
